Your Right to Opt Out

If you are a California resident, you have the right to direct Home Sold Offers to stop selling or sharing your personal information to or with third parties. This right is established under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as strengthened by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), which took effect January 1, 2023.

We take this right seriously. Once we receive and verify your opt-out request, we will stop selling or sharing your personal information — and we will not ask you to opt back in for at least 12 months unless you initiate the request yourself.

What "Sale" and "Sharing" Mean

Under California law, a "sale" means disclosing your personal information to a third party in exchange for money or other valuable consideration. A "sharing" means disclosing your personal information to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising — for example, to build a profile about you for targeted ads — regardless of whether money changes hands.

Personal information we may sell or share includes identifiers (such as name, email address, phone number, and IP address), commercial information (such as property inquiries), and internet or other electronic network activity (such as browsing behavior on our site). We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16 years of age.

Categories of third parties to whom we sell or share personal information include advertising technology partners, data analytics providers, and real estate investor networks who may make cash offers on your property. We do not sell personal information to data brokers for standalone resale.

How to Submit a Request

You may submit an opt-out request using the form below. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and complete your request within 15 business days of verification. We will not discriminate against you for exercising this right — you will receive the same quality of service regardless of whether you opt out.

How We Verify Requests

To protect your personal information, we must verify that you are who you say you are before processing your request. For opt-out requests, we use a low-friction verification standard: we will match the information you provide (name, email, and optionally phone number) against the personal information we hold on file.

If we cannot verify your identity with the information provided, we may ask for one additional piece of identifying information — for example, the address of the property you inquired about. We will only use the information you submit for verification and to process your request. We will not retain it for any other purpose.

We are not required to provide a business-to-consumer personal information opt-out if we cannot reasonably verify that you are the consumer whose personal information is at issue.

Authorized Agents

You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. To do so, the authorized agent must provide written documentation — such as a signed permission letter or a notarized power of attorney — confirming that you have granted them the authority to act on your behalf. We may also contact you directly to verify the agent's authorization before processing the request.

Authorized agent requests should include all the information in the form above, plus the agent's name and contact details, and should be submitted via our Contact page with the subject line "Authorized Agent — Do Not Sell Request."
